As an Analyst in Operations Risk Management, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and compliance of our information systems. This position involves collaborating with various technology and business partners to develop and implement security policies and procedures that align with regulatory guidance. You will be responsible for assisting in the systematic handling of information security, which includes developing best practices for information security standards and managing IT controls. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to provide the best customer experience while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and security. In this role, you will assist in the development, implementation, and review of compliance with American Express policies and standards. You will coordinate and supervise security profiles, review violation reports, and investigate exceptions. Your analytical skills will be essential as you prepare materials such as status reports, presentations, and spreadsheets to support decision-making processes. You will also facilitate meetings to document process changes and maintain an internal documentation library to ensure that all operational processes are up-to-date. Your responsibilities will include providing root cause analysis for incident management, supporting project assessments, and analyzing trends related to information security. You will be accountable for ensuring that security standards and methodologies are implemented effectively, and you will be expected to communicate clearly and compellingly with stakeholders to drive informed decision-making. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining a focus on achieving organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing, implementing and reviewing compliance to AXP and Information security policies, standards and procedures.
  • Implements security policies by coordinating and supervising profiles, reviewing violation reports and investigating possible exceptions; document controls.
  • Prepares materials (status reports, data reports, presentations, spreadsheets, etc) to assist in the gathering of information, development of responses and/or procedures and to enable informed decision making.
  • Consults on controls, processes, and procedures.
  • Facilitates meetings to collect and document products/services or generic process changes.
  • Maintains internal documentation library, ensuring that process and other documentation is regularly updated to reflect the latest operational processes and requirements.
  • Provides root cause analysis assistance for incident management or post implementation efforts.
  • Provides analytical support, as needed, for issue management, project assessments, and reporting.
  • Participates in the evaluation of products and/or procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Supports the analysis of underlying trends and action plans associated with information security and other domains.
  • Maintains records to allow for historical trending analysis.

Requirements

  • 2 years experience with regulatory compliance, assurance, and/or other security methodologies and principles.
  • Experience working with stakeholders, and relationship management, in a matrixed organization.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience with collecting functional requirements, deployment of information security tools, and data analysis.
  • Experience with desktop software (Visio, Power Point, Excel) and office automation tools.
