About the position

The Analyst - Performance & Budgets position at Rochester Gas & Electric Corporation involves a comprehensive analysis of the telecommunications budget, specifically in support of the procurement process for new installations of telecom carrier services. The role requires the analyst to process MACD (move, add, change, and disconnect) requests under general direction. The analyst will assist in developing and reviewing financial evaluations related to General Services and IT services, maintaining vendor relationships, and conducting regular account reviews. The primary responsibilities include analyzing the carrier services inventory budget, tracking variances, and preparing proposals aimed at reducing operational expenditures through potential network transformations. The analyst will coordinate efforts among cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of carrier services and hold regular status meetings with key stakeholders. Additionally, the role involves assisting in the development of technical evaluations for proposed carrier services in collaboration with finance/accounting, IT, General Services, and OT management. The analyst will also track and monitor expenditures related to capital purchases and telecom invoices, support the OT Supervisor with purchase orders and change management, and maintain asset and circuit inventory as well as lease/contract management. As the application administrator and subject matter expert for the Asentinel/Tangoe inventory and expense management application, the analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management of telecom expenses and inventory. The position requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, to effectively manage and analyze data related to telecommunications and financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the OT Telecommunications budget in support of the procurement process for telecom carrier services.
  • Process MACD (move, add, change, and disconnect) requests under general direction.
  • Assist in the development and review of financial evaluations for General Services and IT related services.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and conduct regular reviews of all accounts.
  • Track variances in the carrier services inventory budget and prepare proposals to reduce OpEx spending.
  • Coordinate efforts of cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of carrier services.
  • Hold regular status meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development of technical evaluations for proposed carrier services in conjunction with finance/accounting, IT, General Services, and OT management.
  • Track and monitor OT expenditures, capital purchases, and payment processing of telecom invoices.
  • Support OT Supervisor with purchase order, change management, and trouble case processing as required.
  • Maintain OT asset, circuit inventory, and lease/contract management.
  • Serve as application administrator and subject matter expert for the Asentinel/Tangoe inventory and expense management application.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a minimum of 7 years of telecommunications or financial work experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of experience in inventory Telecommunications or Information Technology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills.
