About the position

The Analyst, Product Development plays a crucial role in researching, analyzing, and assessing the business and financial impacts of new products and benefits. This position involves evaluating options and alternatives for new products or modifications to existing ones, recommending solutions, and participating in the implementation of these products and benefits. The Analyst also supports regulatory filings and other aspects of the change process.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of new products and benefits by performing analysis and coordinating efforts to produce necessary information for decision-making by HMSA leadership.
  • Produce comprehensive assessments of proposed changes through collaboration with internal partners and subject matter experts.
  • Prepare financial, brand, regulatory, customer, market competitor, provider, and other business impact analyses for review during the product development and change process.
  • Present information clearly to assist with understanding and decision-making by the intended audience.
  • Support the filing and implementation of all new products, benefits, and language changes.
  • Ensure documentation, communications, and product materials accurately reflect necessary changes.
  • Assist with strategic portfolio assessments, setting objectives, and making recommendations for change based on goals and operational constraints.
  • Identify areas of product and/or benefit inefficiency and collaborate with internal business partners to make improvements.
  • Research and analyze implications of ad hoc benefit or product change requests.
  • Evaluate employer group requests for new products or benefits, providing assessments and solutions on a short turnaround basis.
  • Perform miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to develop presentations and articulate analytic results and assessments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook/Email, and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
