About the position

The Purchasing Analyst at KDC is responsible for managing the purchasing process from order entry to material release, utilizing MRP data and customer information to ensure timely procurement of materials. The role focuses on identifying cost savings opportunities, managing inventory levels, and collaborating with various departments to align purchasing activities with company goals.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and evaluating purchasing data and trends to identify cost savings and improvement opportunities
  • Negotiating with suppliers to obtain the best prices, terms, and quality for the company
  • Preparing and issuing purchase orders and contracts in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Managing materials purchased from procurement to release
  • Overseeing purchasing responsibilities for a single large customer or multiple small customers
  • Managing tertiary packaging procurement for the facility
  • Monitoring and tracking the status of orders and deliveries and resolving any issues or discrepancies
  • Managing rejects, returns, pricing discrepancies, and freight claims
  • Maintaining and updating purchasing records and databases, including Supplier Master Data
  • Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment of purchasing activities with company goals
  • Recommending items for disposition due to inactivity or expiration
  • Expediting material receipts to meet schedule needs
  • Maintaining appropriate item pricing and supplier files
  • Acting as purchasing lead for new bid processes within the I2P system
  • Managing new bids for Pure Buy component sourcing from selection to receipt
  • Leading PED related projects from sourcing to specification review
  • Managing CISPO process for customer supplied material deliveries
  • Performing all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Business degree or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience using MRP in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Excellent analytical, math, time management, & organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiation
  • Demonstrated MS Office skills, particularly in Excel
  • Cost Analysis, Lean Manufacturing, Kanban/MinMax training desirable.
