About the position

The Analyst, QC I position at Talent Software Services is a contract role based in Novato, CA, focused on driving quality control excellence in a dynamic laboratory environment. This 12-month opportunity offers the potential for long-term extension and involves executing microbiological and analytical methods under cGMP guidelines, ensuring compliance and timely reporting of results.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate timely receipt and accessioning of incoming samples, ensuring batch assignments across all assay types are in line with best practices.
  • Execute microbiological and analytical methods for in-process testing under cGMP guidelines, and report results promptly to meet internal customer timelines.
  • Perform environmental monitoring of facilities, equipment, and utilities.
  • Evaluate assay validity, summarize results, analyze data, and assist with trend analysis report compilation and verification.
  • Collaborate with co-workers on housekeeping tasks to maintain laboratory inspection readiness.
  • Assist with monitoring and controlling laboratory supply and critical reagent inventories.
  • Conduct growth promotion of media and microbial identification testing.
  • Qualify as a trainer for specified methods and provide training to less experienced staff.
  • Provide on-call support for QC laboratory equipment functionality.
  • Communicate proactively about compliance risks and deviations, initiating investigation records within required timeframes.
  • Contribute to test method validation, investigations, technical studies, and method transfer protocols.
  • Participate in team huddles and department meetings, offering ideas for laboratory infrastructure improvements and method optimization.
  • Perform other responsibilities as necessary.

Requirements

  • Experience with quality management systems, cGMP, and QC principles.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of certified functional activities.
  • Excellent documentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with PowerPoint, Access, or Visio is desired.
  • Quality service attitude, flexibility, and willingness to work additional hours as needed.
