The Tax Analyst position at Altus Group is an entry-level role within the Real Estate Tax Valuation and Appeals practice, based in Houston, TX. The Tax Analyst will support Consultants by conducting property searches and extracting crucial data for real property appeal packages, with strong potential for career advancement into a Consultant role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and extract data from various sources to support property appeal cases
• Perform independent analysis to help define project scope, determine appeals, and complete projects
• Build expertise in using multiple database tools to gather key data
• Organize and format relevant data points into standard, accessible formats
• Assist in the preparation of comprehensive appeal packages across diverse property types and jurisdictions
• Analyze and rebut appeal packages provided by different jurisdictions

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, Accounting, Math or related subject
• Previous experience in business, research, or data-related roles
• Proficiency in Excel with strong technical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Interest to learn or experience in the commercial real estate market

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Real Estate Tax Valuation and Appeal practices is a strong asset, but not essential
