About the position

The Payment Reimbursement Analyst is responsible for identifying payer accounts to ensure compliance with payer contracts. This role involves auditing accounts and following up with payers to resolve reimbursement discrepancies, contributing to departmental projects focused on quality and performance improvement.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter experts on interpretation of payor contract language to ensure appropriate reimbursement by insurance companies.
• Identify, analyze, and report trends in repayment issues to leadership.
• Complete special AR projects to help liquidate key segments of Baptist aging AR.
• Participate in the development of the department's long-term and short-term goals, objectives, plans, policies, and procedures.
• Apply consistent and standardized reporting of findings and repayment calculations.
• Communicate with insurance companies daily.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare, accounting, business, or related field (preferred).
• Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or business, or equivalent combination of related experience and education (minimum).
• Two years of experience working in accounting, finance, or a hospital revenue cycle environment (minimum).
• Strong analytical skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of healthcare receivables.
