About the position

The Senior Analyst in Operations & Finance Planning at TriMet plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of Operations Planning and Development by managing financial and budget forecasting, as well as the annual budget and operations planning for various divisions. This position serves as a liaison between Operations and Finance, conducting scenario analyses and maintaining both short and long-range operations plans. The Senior Analyst is responsible for accurate forecasting, budgeting, and report writing, ensuring that safety is a fundamental value in all job aspects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Operations Budget Coordinator to the Finance and Administrative Services Division, coordinating and training Budget Coordinators in various divisions.
• Create and maintain Operations plans and conduct special projects to meet Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requirements.
• Serve as capital budget analyst/liaison, coordinating CIP reporting for Operations divisions and preparing materials for the Capital Improvement Program Committee.
• Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to evaluate Operations programs, projects, budgets, and plans.
• Support intergovernmental agreements and contracts for Operations divisions, reviewing procurement requests and providing expertise on contracts.
• Provide Oracle support to the Operations Planning and Development Department, including data mining and SQL report development.
• Provide budgetary, financial, and performance information to support requests from various stakeholders.
• Create and maintain documentation of TriMet budget and financial forecast processes for Operations divisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• 2 - 5 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or operations planning.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Oracle data mining and SQL report development.
• Knowledge of Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requirements and audits.
