About the position

The Analyst, Servicing Appraisal QC position is responsible for overseeing the quality control process of servicing appraisals within the company. This role involves validating appraisal report values, ensuring compliance with investor requirements, and managing risks associated with third-party appraisers. The analyst will work independently to review property reports and provide feedback to management, while also staying updated on industry guidelines and trends.

Responsibilities

  • Review the value credibility and compliance of servicing appraisals for all residential property types according to investor and Freedom Mortgage requirements.
  • Keep up to date with industry guidelines and trends to ensure compliance with current standards.
  • Research current and upcoming appraisal industry affairs, loan product appraisal guidelines, policies, procedures, and technology.
  • Organize and present findings to inform the department of upcoming changes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance quality assurance procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases pertaining to property valuations and quality assurance procedures.
  • Prepare reports and provide feedback to management regarding quality assurance issues and process improvements.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Four (4) Year college degree preferred but not required.
  • Licensed/Certified Appraiser with at least Five (5) years appraisal review experience with a servicer, GSE, FHA, VA or top 25 mortgage company or bank.
  • At least One (1) year experience performing and/or reviewing appraisals for servicing, default, and/or foreclosure is preferred.
  • At least One (1) year experience using Collateral Underwriter to assess valuation credibility and support is preferred.
  • Strong technological proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office (SharePoint, Excel, Teams).
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in underwriting is a plus.
