About the position

The Analyst/Sr Analyst, International Compensation role at American Airlines is part of the Global Compensation and Mobility Team within the People Division. This position focuses on designing, developing, and implementing compensation policies and practices that align with the company's strategic objectives. The analyst will engage with business leaders to support their talent needs and ensure the successful accomplishment of American's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a critical resource to management regarding salaries for new hires, promotions, transfers, and compensation analysis.
  • Develop and implement annual pay plan reviews for assigned countries.
  • Conduct job evaluations, create/maintain job codes, and write/edit job descriptions as needed.
  • Assist in the design, development, implementation, and administration of international compensation policies and practices.
  • Market price jobs and perform benchmark analyses to determine competitiveness in the marketplace.
  • Analyze data to provide critical insights to stakeholders on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Develop analyses, recommendations, and implementation of compensation-related activities such as merit planning and salary structure movement.
  • Examine compensation trends and develop recommendations supporting business initiatives.
  • Stay updated on changes in compensation laws and practices across different regions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and within a team, conduct research, and present conclusions regarding business issues.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Occasional travel to represent the company at industry conferences or engage with business leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience/training.
  • 3-4 years of compensation experience.
  • Work experience in an analytical or quantitative role.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in international and executive compensation.
  • Experience with market pricing, job evaluations, and conducting salary analyses.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Previous airline industry experience.
