About the position

The position is part of the Revenue Engineering Team within the Revenue Management Division at American Airlines. The role focuses on supporting the implementation of fare and availability distribution for both public and private products, aiming to minimize revenue leakage and enhance efficiencies in fare distribution. Candidates are expected to demonstrate curiosity, take initiative, and be data-driven, contributing to the overall goals of the Revenue Management department.

Responsibilities

  • Support the life cycle of fare products to achieve key Revenue Management departmental goals.
  • Create fare products that drive revenue growth.
  • Provide engineering, research, and design resources for new fare products.
  • Evaluate best practices in fare distribution.
  • Analyze and consult on ATPCO and GDS processing.
  • Collaborate with Agency Relations, Sales, and RAC to create and update booking and ticketing policies.
  • Lead/contribute to ad-hoc, departmental, and companywide projects requiring pricing, fare distribution, and/or reservations expertise.
  • Design automated solutions to improve customer experience, protect revenue, and enhance efficiencies in fare and product distribution.
  • Work with other departments to resolve issues related to reservations prior to customer arrival at the airport.
  • Research and resolve pricing and availability issues/inquiries from multiple departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience/training.
  • Previous airline experience (preferred).
  • 3 years of professional experience in a relevant field or equivalent experience/training (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Skills in analytics.
  • Ability to assemble information, extract pertinent facts, draw logical conclusions, and present recommendations.
  • Ability to learn business processes from other departments and anticipate impacts from RM-led changes.
  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions while taking ownership of job responsibilities.
  • Ability to work on detail-oriented projects.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
