About the position

The Analyst/Sr Analyst in Revenue Management Strategy and Analysis at American Airlines is a key member of the Commercial Planning and Analysis Team within the Revenue Division. This role focuses on managing various projects that impact Revenue Management and other Commercial organizations, utilizing strong analytical skills to solve complex problems and present findings effectively. The position also involves training junior team members in advanced analytical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Uses advanced data analytics to identify new revenue opportunities.
• Learns Revenue Management and other Commercial concepts and provides analytical support to business problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Champions the application of advanced analytical models to complex Commercial problems reliant on empirical models and knowledge.
• Translates complex models into business-friendly terms to gain buy-in from leaders.
• Trains and develops junior team members in SQL, Data Visualization, and other advanced analytical concepts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience/training.
• 2 years of work experience in a data analysis role.
• Experience in drawing insights from complex data sources and explaining those insights in business-friendly terms.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree with significant coursework or experience in a quantitative discipline (economics, mathematics, engineering, finance, etc.).
• SQL query writing ability.
