About the position

Davis Polk is seeking entry-level Structured Products Analysts to join their specialized Structured Products group. This role involves assisting attorneys in advising financial institutions on various structured products transactions, including synthetic exchangeable securities and other linked products. Candidates will have the opportunity to enhance their quantitative and qualitative skills while gaining insights into a niche area of corporate law.

Responsibilities

  • Draft deal-related documents with accuracy under attorney supervision
  • Revise, proofread and distribute draft agreements and other transactional documents
  • Review documents for errors with diligence
  • Gather, organize and maintain precedent collections
  • Coordinate with internal and external working groups to facilitate transaction execution
  • Monitor the filing of documents with the Securities and Exchange Commission and with stock exchanges
  • Oversee the deal flow process
  • Steer transaction through various stages of review and correctly incorporate all comments
  • Ensure the completion of each deal filing ahead of client deadlines and keep client informed of status
  • Keep attorneys informed as to transaction status, deadlines and any changes
  • Maintain an organized directory and database of all structured product deals
  • Establish positive working relationships with the client and the shelf team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record is required
  • Ability to manage a varied workload, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Must be punctual and reliable
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other applications as needed
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and staff, demonstrating strong teamwork and a positive attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to proofread typed material for typographical, spelling and grammatical errors
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ensure confidentiality of all the Firm's and clients' documentation and information

Nice-to-haves

  • Education/experience in quantitative subjects, such as Economics, Business or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
