About the position

This position is responsible for providing analytic support and development of FICO Score products in the U.S. and Canada markets. The role involves leading teams of scientists to build, validate, and support predictive models, while also representing the company in discussions and presentations with customers, partners, and analysts. The position offers opportunities to showcase analytic innovation and engage in sales activities related to the evaluation and adoption of FICO's models.

Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership and manage key analytic product support and development efforts in the Scores group.
  • Partner with business development and client services teams to offer technical expertise on risk management topics.
  • Hands-on development of predictive models using various predictive modeling techniques, including machine learning algorithms.
  • Present findings and project status to higher management and evangelize products and research findings externally.
  • Manage relationships and expectations to ensure high levels of customer service and support.
  • Respond to technical questions from clients about Scores products, demonstrating deep mastery of the products and credit risk modeling.
  • Oversee day-to-day management of research projects aimed at developing new analytic insights and enhancing existing Scores products.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of related experience in the financial services industry, ideally in credit risk.
  • Proven project management experience in the research, development, and delivery of analytic solutions.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams of analysts/scientists, software developers, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong statistical and analytic skills, with fluency in SAS, R, and/or Python.
  • Practical experience with machine learning techniques such as Stochastic Gradient Boosting and Natural Language Processing.
  • Extensive client-facing experience, including leading pre-sales and delivery presentations.
  • Knowledge of alternative credit data sources and experience in developing meaningful predictors.
