The Analytical Chemist position involves operating and maintaining analytical equipment, preparing quality customer reports, and ensuring compliance with corporate standards. This is a contract position based in Madison Heights, MI, with a focus on laboratory experience and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Operation and routine maintenance of analytical equipment
• Upkeep of analytical methods and procedures
• Work efficiently and effectively on a major project
• Preparation of quality customer reports and project portfolio management
• Customer interfacing including correspondence and presentations
• Compliance and understanding of corporate standards such as safety, housekeeping, and quality
• Upkeep of digital programs including Microsoft, LIMS, and statistical analysis

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemistry
• Prior laboratory experience preferred
• Good wet chemistry skills including titration, filtration, dilution, extraction, and gravimetric determinations
• Knowledge and experience with GC-FID, ICP, IC, SEM/EDS, and FTIR
• Prior use of pH and specific ion electrode meters
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong chemical math skills
• Strong PC skills
• Solid interpersonal skills

• Experience in an analytical laboratory
• Familiarity with digital programs and statistical analysis
