About the position

The Analytical Chemist will conduct various chemical assays using established and innovative methodologies, operate and maintain analytical equipment, and develop new analytical methods. This role involves writing detailed reports, transferring validated methods to the Quality Control department, troubleshooting analytical challenges, and supporting production quality through sample analysis. The position also includes developing presentations for sales and marketing, providing technical training, and optimizing laboratory workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct various chemical assays using established and cutting-edge methodologies.
  • Operate and maintain analytical equipment like GC, Electronic Hygrometers, Titrators, and more.
  • Develop, validate, and document new analytical methods for raw materials, production processes, and final products.
  • Write clear and concise reports detailing analytical methods and findings.
  • Transfer validated methods to the Quality Control department.
  • Troubleshoot analytical challenges and identify unknown compounds.
  • Coordinate external testing needs when necessary.
  • Analyze samples to ensure production quality.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to support sales and marketing efforts.
  • Explore new ways to enhance existing products and services.
  • Provide technical training to colleagues.
  • Support efforts to streamline and optimize laboratory workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field (e.g., Chemical Engineering).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an analytical laboratory setting.
  • Prior experience with GC, GC/MS, Sulfur and Mercury Analyzers is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the chemical/refinery or aerosol industry is a benefit.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer skills.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to meet essential job functions (bending, lifting, etc.).
  • Excellent vision, hearing, and sense of smell.
  • Understanding of relevant industry codes and regulations.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (less than 10%).

Nice-to-haves
