About the position

The Analytical Laboratory Technician at Fortera Corporation will support the R&D team's efforts in developing sustainable cement and construction materials. This role involves performing chemical and physical analyses on samples, operating advanced analytical instruments, and optimizing testing methods. The technician will ensure high standards of accuracy and consistency in data handling while contributing to a safe and efficient laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs while completing general lab work and chemical experiments
• Operate analytical instruments, ensuring they are in optimal working condition
• Ensure accurate and consistent sample handling and processing to maintain data integrity
• Assist others in the development and validation of new testing methods
• Work closely with other team members to support ongoing research projects and initiatives
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment in the laboratory
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field
• 1+ years' experience working in a laboratory environment
• Ability to move/lift up to 50lbs during the course of the workday
• Ability to perform tests in a consistent and repeatable fashion
• Willingness to work in a team and communicate data
• A 'can-do' attitude and eagerness to learn
