About the position

The Analytics DevOps Engineer at UCLA Health Systems will be part of the Solutions Architecture and Engineering's High-Performance Computing (SAE-HPC) Team. This role focuses on the design, management, optimization, and automation of HPC clusters and self-service platforms for research and clinical environments. The position is ideal for professionals with a background in web development and cloud infrastructure, who are eager to contribute to service reliability, performance, efficiency, and security in a flexible hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and management of HPC clusters and self-service platforms.
• Optimize and automate processes for research and clinical environments.
• Collaborate with senior team members on various projects.
• Independently handle smaller projects and gradually take on more complex tasks.
• Ensure service reliability, performance, efficiency, and security of HPC environments.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2-4 years of development experience using languages like Python, Java, C++, JSON, Node.js, Ruby, and relevant scripting languages.
• Working knowledge of DevOps principles and practices.
• Experience with software development principles and version control systems like GitHub.
• Proven ability to automate processes using tools like Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of high-performance computing environments.
