About the position

HCA Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Analytics Engineer II to join our ITG Field Operations department in Tallahassee, Florida. This role is crucial for the development and implementation of division and facility programs, as well as enhancing business processes and performance in alignment with HCA's local strategies. The Analytics Engineer II will be responsible for developing dashboards and data models, supporting division and facility reporting needs, and creating both ad hoc and standard reports based on local project or operational expectations. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional business teams and the use of relevant development platforms, such as PowerBI, to design, develop, test, and deploy business intelligence solutions across the enterprise. In this technically focused role, the Analytics Engineer II will work closely with Business Analysts, Data Scientists, and Project Managers to provide leadership in reporting and business intelligence. The position involves ensuring the effective design, build, deployment, documentation, and maintenance of reports against relational and multidimensional databases to support end-user processes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data acquisition, cleansing, analysis, modeling, and visualization, along with experience in SQL and a formal development language. Familiarity with data structures, data warehousing, and Agile/Scrum environments is also preferred. This role is integral to moving healthcare forward by delivering technology solutions that enhance patient care and business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop dashboards and data models within the ITG division.
  • Support division and facility reporting needs, ad hoc reporting, report configuration, and report distribution.
  • Create ad hoc and standard reports per local project or operational expectations.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy business intelligence solutions across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Scientists, and Project Managers to provide leadership regarding reporting and BI.
  • Ensure effective design, build, deployment, documentation, and maintenance of reports against relational and multidimensional databases.

Requirements

  • Expertise/experience in data acquisition, data cleansing, and parsing.
  • Expertise/experience in data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
  • Experience with a business intelligence platform (e.g., PowerBI, Qlik, MicroStrategy).
  • SQL experience required; Teradata preferred, may substitute MSSQL, Oracle, Postgres, or other ANSI-extended SQL.
  • Experience with a formal development language (e.g., Python, R, JavaScript, Ruby, Scala, or Clojure).
  • Expertise/experience in the areas of data structures and data warehousing.
  • Experience using a distributed version control system (DVCS; e.g., GitHub, TFS) preferred.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment preferred.
  • ETL experience preferred.
  • Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of professional experience.
