The Analytics Engineer II at Republic Services plays a crucial role in the design, development, maintenance, and continuous refinement of analytics and reporting solutions. This position is responsible for managing ETL processes, data warehouses, cubes, dashboards, and model deployment. The Analytics Engineer II is expected to stay current with the latest technology trends and implement proof-of-concepts to meet the evolving technology demands of internal customers. Additionally, this role involves maintaining comprehensive system and tool documentation to ensure clarity and accessibility for all stakeholders. In this position, the Analytics Engineer II will maintain and troubleshoot pricing optimization algorithms and rules-based pricing recommendations for both new and existing customers. Collaboration is key, as this role requires working closely with internal customers, analysts, developers, data scientists, and database administrators to provide essential data support for business metrics. The engineer will write ETL scripts using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or similar tools to effectively consume and process new data into the data warehouse. Furthermore, they will design and build automated processes that utilize Excel, SQL, and VBA to facilitate seamless data transfer across teams. The role also includes designing dashboards and tools that enable users to interact with and consume data effectively. The Analytics Engineer II will implement in-database machine learning solutions using SQL Server and R/Python, ensuring the security and integrity of all data throughout the process. Troubleshooting and debugging issues will be a regular part of the job, along with performing other job-related duties as assigned or as they arise.
