About the position

The Analytics Engineer II at HCA Healthcare is a key role within the ITG organization, responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying business intelligence solutions across the enterprise. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to create and maintain reporting solutions that enhance patient care and business operations. The role emphasizes technical expertise in data management and visualization, ensuring effective reporting against relational and multidimensional databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy business intelligence solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional business teams to understand reporting needs.
• Create applications and support dashboard and report solutions development.
• Provide leadership regarding reporting and business intelligence.
• Ensure effective design, build, deployment, documentation, and maintenance of reports.
• Utilize relevant development platforms such as PowerBI for analytics solutions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in analytics or related field.
• Expertise in data acquisition, cleansing, and parsing.
• Experience with data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
• Proficiency in SQL; Teradata preferred, with alternatives like MSSQL, Oracle, or Postgres.
• Experience with a business intelligence platform (e.g., PowerBI, Qlik, MicroStrategy).
• Familiarity with a formal development language (e.g., Python, R, JavaScript).
• Knowledge of data structures and data warehousing.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using a distributed version control system (e.g., GitHub, TFS).
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• ETL experience.
