About the position

The Analytics Engineer at HealthScape Advisors plays a crucial role in shaping analytics capabilities to support clients in the healthcare industry. This position involves designing, building, and deploying advanced data processes and analytics solutions, while fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making within the firm. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and compliance, as well as the development of innovative analytics capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and advisory professionals to design and implement scalable data processes that support the organization's analytics needs
  • Develop and maintain processes to integrate disparate healthcare data sources, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Maintain thorough documentation of data processes, data models, and data architecture to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure compliance with organizational standards
  • Develop code using Big Data technologies such as Snowflake, PySpark, SQL, Python, dbt, R, SAS, etc.
  • Implement and enforce data quality standards, conduct data profiling, and collaborate with stakeholders to address data quality issues
  • Lead the translation, integration, and evolution of analytics artifacts deployed on client engagements into standardized and scalable components of the HealthScape analytics operations
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and healthcare professionals, to understand analytics requirements and provide technical expertise
  • Identify business-aligned emerging healthcare analytic themes in collaboration with leadership and lead innovation with the design and development of new capabilities and solutions
  • Help define standards and best practices for enterprise usage
  • Support the continued development of data and analytics culture across HealthScape Advisors through knowledge share, cross-functional training, and mentorship
  • Ensure the security, confidentiality, and integrity of client information for yourself and the team you supervise

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of applicable experience in Data Analytic, Data Science, Data Engineering, or Software Engineering
  • Previous exposure to common healthcare data file formats (e.g. 837s, administrative claims data)
  • Bachelor's Degree in technology-related field of study (e.g. Computer Science, Health Informatics, Management Information Systems (MIS), Data Science, Analytics, etc.)
  • Strong programming experience developing and delivering analytics with languages and tools such as SQL, Python, Snowpark, dbt, Jupyter Notebooks, R, and Git
  • Familiarity with healthcare data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics platforms
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - possessing the ability to communicate and deliver complex analytics information to clients and executive audiences
  • Previous experience with cloud data warehouse technologies such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery
  • Ability to aid in implementation of DevOps with knowledge and experience of various cloud environments, especially Microsoft Azure
  • Complex problem-solving and critical thinking skills - ability to identify, critically assess, evaluating options, and implementing solutions in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to use logic and reason to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated information or events)
  • Eagerness to mentor/train/knowledge-share with the team
  • Enthusiasm to navigate and continue learning in an entrepreneurial environment
