About the position

The Analytics Engineer plays a crucial role in leveraging data and analytics to enhance business performance and clinical outcomes. This position involves working with various stakeholders to optimize processes, manage data relationships, and communicate insights effectively. The engineer will design, code, test, and maintain relational databases while developing measurement systems and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Work with unstructured data to find relationships and integrate data for actionable insights.
  • Collect business requirements, validate data, and develop dashboards and reports.
  • Collaborate with technical and operational teams to deliver data solutions that meet governance requirements.
  • Analyze operational, financial, and clinical data from various sources, including EMR and billing.
  • Develop meaningful KPIs and measurement systems to drive business outcomes.
  • Create and maintain design documentation and data architecture artifacts.
  • Establish and manage production data and analytics processes, ensuring data accuracy through QA processes.
  • Support architectural guidelines for data and analytics environments, focusing on scalability and security.
  • Lead multiple projects, gathering requirements and delivering cohesive data solutions.
  • Engage with stakeholders to standardize data sources and ensure data accuracy for enterprise analytics.
  • Perform statistical analysis and articulate results clearly to various audiences.
  • Present complex data in a clear and understandable format using data visualization methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, analytics, biostatistics, informatics, computer science, business, or engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3-4 years of experience in data collection, management, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Experience in supporting customer groups through data analysis and report creation.
  • Proficiency in Tableau Desktop and database development and maintenance.
  • Experience in metrics implementation, performance benchmarking, and data governance.
  • Knowledge of operational and clinical data in the healthcare field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Python and Health Catalyst data warehouse.
