About the position

The Analytics Engineer role is focused on developing, enhancing, and optimizing business intelligence solutions for a large-name television streaming client. This position involves working with data modeling, visualization, and overall BI solutions, with an emphasis on dashboard building, ETL pipelines, and cloud-based warehousing. The role is fully remote and is offered as a one-year contract with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and optimize business intelligence solutions, encompassing data models, dashboards, and reports
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ascertain requirements and ensure data solutions align with business objectives
  • Uphold data quality and integrity through the implementation of validation and monitoring processes
  • Construct and manage intricate SQL queries, including those utilized in ETL scripts
  • Institute and sustain best practices for the design, development, and maintenance of BI solutions
  • Address and resolve operational issues promptly, documenting, troubleshooting, and rectifying day-to-day data challenges
  • Process, refine, and validate data integrity for analytical purposes and provide Tableau support, including training and access provisioning
  • Analyze extensive datasets to discern patterns and devise solutions

Requirements

  • Over 4 years of experience in business intelligence development, encompassing data model design and BI dashboard development
  • High proficiency in SQL
  • Competence in designing, developing, and managing SQL-based ETL pipelines, utilizing tools like Airflow, dbt, or Databricks
  • Proficiency in Tableau
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift)
  • Experience in gathering business requirements and crafting reporting solutions to translate large datasets into actionable insights for analysts and business users
  • Understanding of relational and dimensional database concepts, data modeling, data warehouse design, and data management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for conveying specifications, processes, and metadata to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Robust organizational, prioritization, and planning abilities, capable of managing multiple projects collaboratively across diverse units
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business, economics, computer science, information systems, statistics, or a related quantitative field
  • Experience working with extensive and complex datasets generated by websites and mobile/TV applications
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Experience with Google BigQuery
  • Familiarity with Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, or similar digital analytics tools
  • Experience with git and git providers such as Github, Bitbucket, Gitlab
