About the position

The Analytics Engineer at AirGarage plays a crucial role in maximizing the company's data capabilities, ensuring high-quality data management, and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization. This position involves building and maintaining a robust analytics system that provides insights into parking lot and garage performance, while also collaborating with various teams to understand their data needs and develop effective data solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the founding team and company leadership to build a best-in-class analytics system.
  • Work with engineering, data, sales, marketing, and product teams to understand data needs and produce data solutions.
  • Develop scalable code to transform raw data into curated, ready-to-analyze datasets.
  • Identify new data sources to improve company performance in core business activities.
  • Conduct data analyses to assist partner teams in diagnosing issues and measuring performance.
  • Troubleshoot and communicate data issues to internal stakeholders, building code tests to preemptively catch problems.
  • Define data team best practices, workflows, and documentation for a sustainable data function.

Requirements

  • Passion for data and a strong desire to clean up messy datasets.
  • A degree in engineering, science, math, or a related analytical field.
  • Experience with the modern data stack (Snowflake, dbt, Polytomic, Hex, or equivalents).
  • Advanced fluency in SQL and Python, with knowledge of Snowpark as a bonus.
  • Prior experience with data modeling and writing performant queries in a data warehouse setting.
  • Extreme attention to detail and nuance.
  • Innate curiosity and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Systems-thinking ability to understand interconnected processes.
  • A growth mindset and a desire for continuous learning.
