About the position

The Analytics Engineer at Airbyte will play a crucial role in building and maintaining data pipelines and analytics infrastructure. This position involves collaborating with product managers and engineers to ensure data accuracy and accessibility, enabling informed product decisions. The engineer will also provide product feedback based on firsthand experience with Airbyte's offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines using Airbyte.
  • Develop and optimize data models, transformations, and visualizations using dbt, BigQuery, Metabase, and Metaplane.
  • Analyze data to provide insights on product performance, customer behavior, and financial metrics.
  • Create dashboards and reports that provide stakeholders with necessary data for informed decisions.
  • Actively use the Airbyte product to provide valuable feedback to the product team.
  • Collaborate with product managers and functional leads to understand data needs and support product development initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data analysis, focusing on building and maintaining data pipelines and analytics infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in dbt, BigQuery, Metabase, Metaplane, or similar tools; experience with ELT processes and data integration tools is essential.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles and experience in designing and optimizing data models for analytics.
  • Expertise in analyzing large datasets and identifying trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
  • Ability to troubleshoot data-related issues and optimize data processes.
  • Attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and integrity in all outputs.
  • Advanced SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries and optimize performance in large datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
