About the position

As an Analytics Engineer within the Operational Excellence & Enterprise Analytics Department at NorthEast Provider Solutions Inc., you will play a crucial role in expanding and optimizing our network enterprise data warehouse. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about data and are eager to contribute to data-driven decision-making processes across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in data pipeline development and data wrangling, with a focus on optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. You will be expected to work independently while also supporting the data needs of multiple teams and systems in both clinical and non-clinical domains. In this role, you will be responsible for building the infrastructure necessary for optimal extraction, loading, and transformation (ELT) of data into our enterprise data warehouse (EDW) from a variety of data sources. This will involve utilizing SQL and cloud data warehousing technologies such as Azure, AWS, and Snowflake. You will also create and maintain optimal data pipeline ingestion architecture for various unstructured and structured data sources, ensuring that data is organized and accessible for analysis. Your strong business process acumen will be essential as you attribute how specific clinical or non-clinical business processes generate data. With a comprehensive understanding of our operational processes, you will develop transformation logic to establish structured and analytical data repositories across various domains. Additionally, you will utilize data orchestration and scheduling techniques to combine and organize siloed data from multiple storage locations, making it available for data analysis tools and enabling automation. You will also be tasked with developing and maintaining front-end analytics tools and dashboards using Tableau or Power BI, providing actionable insights into operational performance and key business metrics. Implementing sound data cataloging and analytics development best practices will be crucial for creating organized inventories and source control, which aid in data governance. Ensuring data quality and governance at the enterprise level will be a priority, utilizing data lineage techniques and following standard documentation practices. Collaboration with stakeholders, including executive leadership and operations management, will be key as you assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs. You will ensure that internal and external data security standards are maintained to safeguard enterprise and patient data, while also providing recommendations to enhance our data engineering techniques and architecture design. Your agile skills, drawing from various disciplines such as management consulting and information technology, will be valuable in this dynamic role.

Responsibilities

  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, loading, and transformation (ELT) of data into our enterprise data warehouse (EDW) from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and Cloud data warehousing technologies (Azure, AWS, Snowflake, etc.).
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline ingestion architecture for various unstructured and structured data sources.
  • Develop transformation logic to establish structured and analytical data repositories across various domains based on a comprehensive understanding of operational processes.
  • Combine and organize siloed data from multiple data storage locations using data orchestration and scheduling techniques, making it available for data analysis tools.
  • Develop and maintain front-end analytics tools and dashboards (Tableau/Power BI) that provide actionable insights into operational performance and key business metrics.
  • Implement sound data cataloging and analytics development best practices to create organized inventories and source control for data governance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an Analytics Engineer role.
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field, required.
  • Proficiency in SQL, required.
  • CI/CD development experience for data transformation with SQL, highly preferred.
  • Experience with Cloud Data Warehouse architecture (Snowflake/Azure), preferred.
  • Experience with Python, R, or other programming languages, preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree, preferred.
  • Experience in SQL development, table design, pipeline design and build, pipeline monitoring, orchestration & scheduling, data profiling.
  • Expertise in analyzing data to identify gaps and inconsistencies, troubleshooting, dashboard development/visualization.
  • Advanced proficiency in statistics and statistical software with an ability to visualize data for improvement/performance monitoring.
