As an Analytics Engineer at firsthand, you will play a crucial role in transforming the way individuals living with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) receive care. Our mission is to deliver real outcomes for a historically underserved population by building a service that focuses on whole-person care. This involves establishing trusting relationships and supporting quality care for individuals with complex experiences of SMI. Your work will directly contribute to improving health outcomes and reducing the utilization of high-cost care, while also assisting individuals in enrolling in eligible benefits. In this position, you will be part of a passionate team dedicated to solving one of the most challenging healthcare problems in the country. You will have the opportunity to engage in deeply mission-oriented work, receive mentorship from a motivated team, and have a voice in the early stages of business building. Your primary responsibility will be to build data pipelines and analytics that provide trusted and actionable insights, enabling our markets to serve individuals living with SMI at scale. You will be involved in greenfield development, allowing you to make a significant impact on foundational technology and help shape our culture as a data-driven organization. This role requires you to build impactful healthcare technology using a modern tech stack, ensuring that our team of peers, social workers, and nurse practitioners can focus on critical tasks rather than manual, inefficient activities. Your responsibilities will include building lasting data modeling solutions, automating analyses, and authoring pipelines via SQL-based ETL frameworks. You will develop data models and schemas that facilitate intuitive analysis in a Data Warehouse setting, communicate with various stakeholders to produce requirements and designs, and help operations and clinical managers create data-driven processes. Additionally, you will invest in end-user data literacy through hands-on training and enable teams to self-serve their data analytics needs by transforming data into useful formats and documenting data models.
