About the position

The Analytics Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless data operations and analytics. Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines to support data integration from various sources.
  • Develop and optimize data models and storage solutions to ensure efficient data retrieval and analysis.
  • Implement and manage cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Databricks) to support data storage, processing, and analytics.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and collaborators to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs in GitHub and other tools.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing standard methodologies for data governance and monitoring.
  • Solve and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends and engineering technologies and cloud platforms.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in data engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency with SQL and experience with database management systems.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with data processing technologies like Databricks, AWS or similar frameworks.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in languages such as Python, R, or Scala.
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject area, or equivalent experience.
