About the position

The Analytics Engineer will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining the data infrastructure that empowers data-driven decision making across the organization. This position bridges the gap between data engineering and business intelligence (BI) by designing, developing, and implementing data pipelines, transforming raw data into clean, accessible datasets for analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with data scientists and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Design, develop, and implement data pipelines to move and transform data from various sources, ensuring the transformations accurately reflect business needs.
  • Clean, validate, and transform raw data to ensure accuracy and consistency for analytical use in accordance with established service-level agreements and data contracts.
  • Build and maintain data models to support efficient data analysis in the BI platform, considering user workflows and analytical needs.
  • Administer and optimize the BI platform (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Domo, etc.) to ensure smooth operation, performance, and scalability; to cater to a range of user access needs, and to ensure the enablement of full platform functionality to drive adoption and business value.
  • Develop and implement data security measures to govern data access and protect sensitive information.
  • Document data pipelines, data models, and BI configurations to ensure clarity, maintainability, and understanding of the end-to-end data flow.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest data engineering and BI tools and technologies, focusing on those that enhance overall integration into business and analytical processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, or data science (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • At least 2 years of experience working in Data Science or related field.
  • Proven aptitude for working with large datasets from a variety of sources, including structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data, interpreting data, and turning it into actionable plans.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python and associated analytics libraries like Pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy, Matplotlib, etc.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, Domo) and techniques.
  • Experience in designing and developing analytics and data products.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute complex research projects with minimal supervision.
