About the position

The Manager/Sr. Manager of Data and Analytics (Analytics Application Delivery) is responsible for leading the technical product delivery of Waystar's business intelligence (BI) applications. This role involves managing a team of data analysts, engineers, and architects to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of high-quality BI solutions that provide strategic value to Waystar's healthcare customers.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize customer needs and satisfaction in decision-making and work prioritization.
  • Continuously seek feedback from customers to improve BI applications.
  • Leverage data to identify and address customer pain points.
  • Lead a culture of innovation within the team.
  • Encourage curiosity and experimentation to solve business problems and implement new BI technologies.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of BI application development, from requirements gathering to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
  • Translate real-world healthcare problems to cutting-edge analytics technology solutions.
  • Utilize performance data to resolve issues and prioritize performance optimization improvements.
  • Establish and maintain data governance policies and standards.
  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and executive leadership.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of analytics engineering experience.
  • 3-5 years of engineering leadership experience.
  • Complete familiarity with self-service analytics, enterprise reporting, and data visualization best practices.
  • Experience building and deploying BI products in the Google Cloud framework.
  • Demonstrated competency in RDBMS (e.g., SQL Server, Snowflake, or Google Big Query preferred).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Master of Science degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics.

Nice-to-haves

  • An aptitude for medical informatics is preferred.
