About the position

The Anchor Leader Coordinator is a student employment role responsible for overseeing the Anchor Program at the University of Portland's Shepard Academic Resource Center. This position involves hiring, training, and supporting the Anchor Leader team for the fall 2025 and spring 2026 sessions, ensuring a smooth operation of the program from November 2024 through March 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Review Returner Applications and conduct interviews for returner selection in November 2024.
  • Prepare for new leader hiring in November 2024.
  • Read Anchor Leader applications and conduct interviews in January and February 2025.
  • Plan and execute spring training for Anchor Leaders in March and April 2025.
  • Conduct weekly training sessions and meetings during the fall 2025 program.
  • Review and select new Coordinator and returner applications in November/December 2025.
  • Assist in the hiring and training preparations for the 2026 Anchor Leader team.

Requirements

  • Must be a current or previous Anchor Leader.
  • Must be in good academic standing at the University of Portland.
  • Availability to prepare and train Anchor Leaders two weeks before classes in August 2025.
