About the position

As an Anchor/Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) at Spectrum News, you will have the unique opportunity to gain extensive journalistic experience both in the newsroom and in the field. You will be responsible for pitching stories, delivering engaging newscasts, and creating high-quality content that resonates with viewers. The role requires a balance between reporting and anchoring, allowing you to go into the field to discover original stories while also delivering news in-studio. Responsibilities

  • Pitching original stories and delivering engaging newscasts.
  • Creating character-driven content that resonates with local communities.
  • Collaborating with a team to produce timely and accurate news reports.
  • Utilizing various platforms including TV news, connected television, and digital news for story delivery.
  • Managing multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Traveling to cover important stories in the community and interacting with local residents.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in television news anchoring.
  • 5+ years of experience in television news reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or comparable television work experience.
  • Technical skills in video editing, still photography, and social media marketing.
  • Strong writing and anchoring skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and lift/carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license for authorized driving in the state of residence.
