About the position

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Android CTV/Fire TV Developer to join a prominent media and entertainment client. This is a remote position that operates on Pacific Standard Time and is expected to last for 4 months. The selected candidate will be responsible for utilizing their own laptop to contribute to the Connected TV experience team, which is under pressure to launch a new set of features across six platforms. These features include Video on Demand, bookmarks, favorites lists, and known authentication/known profiles. As the primary Android developer for the CTV team, this role entails ownership of the codebase for both Android TV and Fire TV platforms. The developer will be tasked with new feature development, enhancements, bug fixes, and code deployment, ensuring that the applications meet the high standards expected in the media and entertainment industry.

Responsibilities

• Own the codebase for Android TV and Fire TV platforms.
• Develop new features and enhancements for the Connected TV experience.
• Fix bugs and ensure code quality before deployment.
• Deploy code updates and manage version control.
• Collaborate with team members to meet tight deadlines for feature launches.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Android development, preferably with Android TV/Fire TV experience.
• Recent experience with Kotlin and Kotlin coroutines.
• Proficient in Android Architecture Components and Java Foundation and standard libraries.
• Experience with MVVM Architecture.
• Unit testing experience to ensure code quality before deployment.
• Familiarity with developer tools such as Jira, Confluence, and GitHub.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts.
