About the position

SLAIT Consulting is seeking an experienced Android Developer to join their team in the Virginia Beach, VA area. The role involves developing mobile applications using the Android operating system and SDK, with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutions for various clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, particularly in Android, and will be responsible for all phases of the product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Android applications using native SDK and third-party tools.
• Architect and write product requirement documentation.
• Handle all phases of the product development lifecycle and product management.
• Build mobile strategies from the ground up.
• Collaborate effectively as part of a team and work independently when required.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software development using object-oriented methodology.
• 3+ years of Android development experience.
• Excellent knowledge of the Android operating system and Android SDK.
• Strong knowledge of mobile technologies and the Google Play Store.
• Experience with HTML 5 is a plus.
• Familiarity with WebSocket, specifically Socket.IO, AJAX, XML, and JSON.
• Experience with 9-patch images, screen layout concepts, and UI design fundamentals.
• BS or MS in Computer Science is desired.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiar with iOS, Objective C, Cocoa Touch, OOD, Data Structures, C++, C#.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
