About the position

The Android Developer position at Modis involves developing innovative mobile applications focused on addressing real-world security challenges. This permanent role requires collaboration within a team and a strong understanding of the Android ecosystem, particularly in relation to mobile security.

Responsibilities

• Working on a team collaborating and being extensively content-driven.
• Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of information security related to Android applications.
• Monitoring the state of the mobile security industry with a drive towards innovation.

Requirements

• 4+ years of general development experience with at least 3 years developing mobile applications.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience developing in Android for Java.
• Deep knowledge of the Android ecosystem and a successful track record of launching Android apps.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Android NDK development.
• Familiarity with SVN and Git.
• Strong understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, XML/JSON, and web services.
• Knowledge of and experience with Android UI/UX guidelines.
• Experience with collaborative design, development, and documentation of RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with Google Play Store application deployment tools and infrastructure.
• Experience developing push notifications, cursor library, and caching within Android frameworks.
• Experience developing server-side Java services/external integrations.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
