We are seeking a talented Android Developer for an immediate contract opportunity that spans over 12 months, with the potential for long-term engagement. This position is based in Chicago, IL, and offers a hybrid work environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing Android client code solutions that align with our Product Strategy while adhering to established engineering best practices, design guidelines, and principles. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Software Engineers, UX/UI designers, Quality Engineers, and Product Owners/Analysts to create high-performing, quality customer experiences that are engaging and purposeful. You will actively participate in all team agile ceremonies, ensuring that all team commitments are met on time and with the highest quality standards. As an advocate for the mobile platform, you will engage with both internal and external developer communities, sharing knowledge and best practices. Continuous learning is essential in this role, and you will be expected to stay updated on all technologies related to mobile development, including Kotlin and Swift, as well as third-party libraries. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior to mid-level team members and engage with developers across various disciplines, including Android, iOS, APIs, and Web. Your responsibilities will include owning and leading the delivery of major components and platform needs in partnership with Senior Engineers and Architects, identifying technical obstacles early, and working collaboratively to find creative solutions. Additionally, you will review pull requests to ensure adherence to Kotlin and other language idioms, contributing to the overall improvement of processes within and across sprint teams.
