About the position

The Android Developer position involves working collaboratively to develop customer-facing mobile applications for the airline industry. The role focuses on creating exceptional user experiences while supporting key business objectives. The developer will engage in all aspects of application development, including design, development, and delivery, utilizing an Agile process. This is a contract position based in Fort Worth, TX, requiring in-office work three days a week.

Responsibilities

• Create outstanding experiences for millions of customers
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product owners to deliver customer-focused features
• Write quality code that is efficient, maintainable, and scalable across teams
• Own your code from conception to production
• Work with customer support and product owners to pivot on features and address reported bugs

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent
• 7+ years of Android development experience with knowledge of API design, best practices, and UX guidelines
• Proficiency in Kotlin, Java programming, Jetpack Compose, and debugging skills
• Experience with build/deployment tools: Android Studio, Gradle, Git
• Familiarity with DevOps Toolchain: Slack, Gradle, GitHub Actions
• Experience with multi-threading and REST-based JSON APIs
• Excellent communication skills and initiative to solve problems and convey solutions to peers and product owners
• Experience in Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM
• Ability to work well within a team environment, as well as independently

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in commercial software
• History of publishing native mobile apps
• Knowledge of UI testing and continuous integration
