About the position

As an Android Engineer on the Peloton Product Engineering team, you will be responsible for building and enhancing Android applications that deliver exceptional fitness experiences to our members. This role involves developing customer-facing features in Kotlin for the Peloton mobile app and ensuring high-quality performance across various markets. You will also play a key role in mentoring and assisting other engineers within your team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Android applications for Peloton's mobile app and fitness experiences.
  • Iterate on processes, technology, and communication within the engineering team.
  • Assist and mentor other engineers to foster their growth and development.
  • Translate product, UX, UI, and analytics requirements into effective code implementations.
  • Profile UI, memory, and threading in Android applications.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • 2+ years of Android development experience, including working knowledge of Kotlin.
  • Experience with Git for version control.
  • Solid experience interacting with REST APIs.
  • Strong understanding of architecture patterns, specifically MVI and MVVM.
  • Ability to profile UI, memory, and threading in Android applications.
  • Experience with unit testing and continuous build in an Agile environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previously published applications on the Google Play Store.
  • Experience contributing to open source communities.
  • Github projects showcasing software development skills.
