About the position

The Android Reverse Engineer will support a leading Global Security Software Company by conducting reverse engineering, security assessments, and code reviews. The primary goal is to develop static and dynamic signatures for mobile code that detects application user threats, including malware and potentially unwanted programs (PUPs). This position requires the candidate to be willing to relocate to Austin and work onsite three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Review applications and SDKs to detect threats and reverse engineer software
• Utilize tools such as Jadx, Ghidra, Frida, IDA Pro, and Burp for binary and APK/SDK analysis
• Conduct code reviews for security policy violations, vulnerabilities, or improper coding practices
• Apply advanced knowledge of Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, and other mobile software languages

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on development and reverse engineering experience
• In-depth understanding and experience of IoT device or Android internals
• Knowledge of techniques utilized by malicious software to tamper with user devices
• Familiarity with mobile phone security topics
• Understanding of mobile app store policies (Ads, PHAs, Developer, etc.)
