About the position
Apex Systems is seeking an Android Test Engineer for a 1-year contract position in Seattle, WA, with the potential for extension. The role focuses on automating hardware tests for new devices, requiring strong debugging skills and collaboration with team members. The engineer will work on ensuring the quality of hardware and software for innovative research devices and software stacks, contributing to immersive XR experiences.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with researchers and designers to develop and maintain a test infrastructure for cutting edge research devices.
- Author automation tests for Android devices, including data validation.
- Design, code, and implement test tools and automation scripts.
- Help to run a test automation lab for Android devices.
- Conduct manual testing where automation doesn't exist.
Requirements
- Experience with Android device automation and debugging tools (ADB/Logcat)
- 2+ years experience with a test framework (PyTest, PyUnit, Django, etc)
- Understanding of Linux commands and shell scripting.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Javascript, Jest, and/or C++
- Experience with data validation (numpy)
- Experience with test/device lab maintenance.
