About the position
The Patient Specialty Services Tech plays a crucial role in assisting anesthesiologists by preparing necessary equipment for anesthesia administration, setting up invasive monitoring lines, and supporting various procedures in the operating room. This position requires collaboration with a team and involves clerical duties, ensuring proper care of instruments, and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Assist the anesthesiologist in preparing equipment for anesthesia administration.
- Set up invasive lines for patient monitoring.
- Perform cell saving procedures and assist in laser procedures.
- Set up other operating room equipment as needed.
- Complete clerical and coordinating duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Ensure proper care of instrumentation and equipment.
- Utilize safety measures and complete documentation accurately.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience as an Anesthesia tech required.
- Experience with Rapid Transfuser and invasive intravenous patient lines required.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Knowledge of Infection control, OSHA, Universal Precautions, and Waste Management.
- Ability to meet physical requirements of lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing 50lbs or more.
- Extensive walking, standing, and manual dexterity in operating equipment.
Nice-to-haves
- Anesthesia Technician Certification preferred.
- Strong electronics background recommended.
- Experience with anesthesia machines.
