About the position

The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking candidates for Associate or Full Professor positions. These roles are available in both the non-tenure clinician educator track and the tenure track, focusing on clinical anesthesia, teaching, and research responsibilities. The position requires a strong commitment to education, clinical practice, and research, with opportunities to specialize in various areas of anesthesia.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical anesthesia at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) and the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC).
• Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in operating rooms and wards.
• Participate in lectures, small groups, workshops, and simulation sessions.
• Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at scientific meetings.
• Secure grants for research, particularly on the tenure track.
• Engage in investigator-initiated and collaborative research.

Requirements

• M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
• ABA certification in anesthesiology or candidate status in the examination system.
• Ability to obtain a Pennsylvania medical license.
• Prior peer-reviewed publications.
