About the position

Schneider Electric has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer specializing in Angular development within our Energy and Sustainability Services group. This role is primarily based in Louisville, Kentucky, where you will join a talented team of architects and developers dedicated to designing and implementing business-critical applications that support our sustainability initiatives. As a Sustainability Software Developer, you will collaborate closely with software architects and stakeholders to understand their requirements and constraints, developing comprehensive plans and execution strategies to meet those needs effectively. In this position, you will leverage the latest technologies to build innovative and sustainable solutions that help our customers optimize their energy usage, reduce their carbon footprint, and improve operational efficiency. You will play a key role in the overall success of the team, focusing on the design and development of software solutions that align with our strategic architecture and platform strategies, utilizing your expertise in Angular development. Your responsibilities will include working on a talented team to build SaaS-based energy and sustainability solutions for our business clients and customers. You will develop and enhance core business systems and applications, focusing on front-end development using Angular, while also providing integration to other internal and external systems. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential as you design and develop software solutions that address sustainability challenges. You will write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using Angular, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript, and develop APIs and web services for data collection and analysis in collaboration with back-end developers. Additionally, you will participate in code reviews, troubleshoot software defects, and stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance core business systems and applications focusing on front-end development using Angular.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop software solutions that address sustainability challenges.
• Build external and internal facing software solutions for companies to track, report, and reduce their carbon emissions and achieve sustainability goals.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using Angular, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Develop APIs and web services for data collection and analysis in collaboration with back-end developers.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues.
• Keep up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to sustainability.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Angular development.
• Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Experience with front-end development, including Angular, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Knowledge of back-end technologies such as .NET Core and C# is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Knowledge of cloud computing; experience building scalable, resilient applications using Azure is a plus.
• Experience working in collaborative teams and in an agile development environment.
• Previous energy or sustainability industry knowledge is a plus.
• Familiarity with back-end development using C#, .NET, ASP.NET MVC, .NET Core.
• Experience with Azure services and Kubernetes.
• SQL Server, NoSQL Databases.

Benefits

• Salary between $110K and $125K base plus all benefits and a consistent bonus.
