About the position

The Animal Care Supervisor at Petco is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Companion Animal Department, ensuring the health and well-being of live animals, and driving sales of various pets. This role involves coaching and mentoring team members, implementing operational standards, and enhancing the guest experience. The supervisor will also manage training and development, support scheduling, and lead a high-performing team to achieve sales goals and maintain operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Promote and ensure efficient operations of the Companion Animal Department.
• Drive sales of aquatic pets, reptiles, birds, and small companion animals.
• Coach and mentor Pet Care Center partners in guest experience and animal care processes.
• Train and develop team members to meet operational standards and safety procedures.
• Conduct hourly animal health checks and maintain wellness cards for live animals.
• Adhere to Veterinary Protocol for sick animals.
• Process register transactions to enhance guest experience.
• Support guest interactions and be proficient in the selling model.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a related field.
• High School Diploma or GED.
