About the position
The Animal Shelter Supervisor at NOCO Humane is responsible for overseeing the Client Services and Animal Care departments, ensuring the compassionate and responsible care of animals while managing a team of staff and volunteers. This role involves direct supervision of two staff members and indirect supervision of approximately twenty, along with performing hands-on duties as needed. The supervisor will also assist with budgeting, compliance with animal care regulations, and the operation of the shelter store.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Client Services and Animal Care departments.
- Train and develop staff and volunteers.
- Assist with annual budgeting and compliance with animal care regulations.
- Operate the Shelter store, including inventory and ordering.
- Participate in Shelter and supervisory meetings.
- Serve as a backup to the Shelter Manager.
Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- At least one year of direct multi-staff supervision or two years of multi-volunteer supervision.
- One year of experience in a customer/client focused position.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Experience with Chameleon software or other animal shelter software is highly desired.

- Previous animal welfare experience is preferred.
- Proven emotional intelligence, work ethic, and integrity skills.
