About the position

As an Animator at Rockstar Games, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to creating cinematic animations for video games. This full-time position is based in Carlsbad, CA, where you will work in a state-of-the-art studio environment. Your role will involve crafting visually stunning cutscenes and cinematic sequences, collaborating with various teams to enhance the gaming experience through innovative animation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Create stunning animations that are responsive and cinematic.
• Work closely with the design team to create immersive cinematic experiences.
• Implement, troubleshoot and debug animation systems.
• Help improve animation pipelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in art/animation or equivalent experience.
• Outstanding demo reel.
• Minimum 1 year of experience animating video games.
• Exceptional skill in animating the human figure to create realistic character animations.
• Strong understanding of development issues in getting animations into a game.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Practical knowledge of programming languages (Python, C# / C++, etc.).
• Advanced knowledge of MotionBuilder and motion capture.
• Professional experience developing third person action games.
• Experience of film editing, lighting or VFX.
• Practical knowledge of state machines and motion trees.
