About the position

The position is for a full-time faculty member in Information Systems Technology at Columbus State, responsible for delivering quality education, fostering student engagement, and contributing to continuous improvement in teaching practices. The faculty member will design and oversee curriculum, teach assigned courses, and support students in their academic journey while adhering to the College's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches assigned courses and oversees curriculum in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Designs inclusive curriculum that embraces diversity and supports a range of learning activities.
  • Maintains accurate records, including attendance and grades, and communicates progress to students.
  • Creates and maintains syllabi that meet departmental and college requirements.
  • Conducts classes punctually and employs appropriate assessment techniques to measure student performance.
  • Creates a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active learning and student interaction.
  • Maintains office hours and uses technology to communicate with students effectively.
  • Advises students on program and career options, referring them to support services as needed.
  • Participates in the development and improvement of instructional materials and curricula.
  • Completes mandatory performance evaluations and participates in required training.
  • Shares best practices with colleagues and engages in departmental or institutional research.
  • Attends faculty meetings and participates in departmental committees.
  • Maintains professional credentials and engages in professional development activities.
  • Fosters a culture of respect and inclusion within the college community.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Two years of recent professional cybersecurity-related experience.
  • State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to gain access to work sites.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in teaching at the college level.
  • Familiarity with online teaching platforms and technology integration in education.
