About the position
The Annuity Claims Processor plays a crucial role in assisting families by managing and processing death claim transactions on annuity contracts. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and compassion to ensure that each claim is handled efficiently and with care. The role involves various responsibilities, including communication with beneficiaries and processing claim payments, all aimed at providing support during a difficult time.
Responsibilities
- Setting up the initial claim notification
- Communicating requirements, settlement options, and claim status with beneficiaries, agents, attorneys, and customers
- Evaluating, analyzing, and investigating claims
- Processing and approving claim payments
- Generating settlement confirmation letters
- Maintaining accurate and complete financial records
- Working closely with the annuity product specialists' team to assist with claims inquiries
Requirements
- An associate degree or equivalent work experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong math aptitude, analytical ability, and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Experience in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- LOMA Associate Customer Service (ACS) designation within 12 months of hire
- Series 6 a plus
