About the position

The Annuity Operations Analyst role at KeyBank involves providing essential back-office support for Key Investment Services advisors, focusing on new annuity and life insurance orders as well as maintaining existing annuity policies. The position requires strong communication and organizational skills to manage various tasks efficiently while ensuring compliance and quality in processing applications and orders.

Responsibilities

  • Review annuity applications and related documentation.
  • Work with KIS advisors to ensure funding is in place for annuity orders.
  • Assist with annuity linking and delinking requests.
  • Process manual annuity and life insurance orders.
  • Assist advisors with questions regarding rep changes on annuity policies.
  • Communicate and follow up on all items that are not in good order.
  • Monitor Work Basket to complete assigned tasks.
  • Make quality decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete or ambiguous information and under tight deadlines/pressure.
  • Contact carriers to request statements, discuss the status of orders, troubleshoot issues with policies.
  • Document and maintain department procedures.
  • Provide project support duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or 3-5 years of experience in Investment Operations environment or equivalent financial services experience.
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize work and meet established deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrate detail orientation, precision and exactness.
  • Strong Personal Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Take ownership and provide complete follow-up with assigned tasks.
  • Flexible and adaptable individual with the ability to handle changing priorities to support the team as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience/knowledge with annuities processing and/or back-office investment operations.
  • Institute continuous improvement approaches where appropriate; assess processes and make recommendations for workflow improvement.
  • Exhibit a proactive nature and approach to learning, problem identification and resolution.
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn and be successful.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $50,000 to $55,000 annually depending on experience.
  • Eligibility for short-term incentive compensation.
  • Deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
